The DZD Grants are a funding program of the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD) designed to actively stimulate innovative, cross-site collaborations within the DZD. The program supports ambitious joint translational research projects that bring together complementary expertise, technologies, and infrastructures across DZD partner sites.
DZD researchers are encouraged to apply with a collaborative project that addresses a clearly defined challenge in translational diabetes research and clearly benefits from the added value of cross-site cooperation. The DZD Grants enable research teams to initiate new collaborations or further strengthen existing ones, thereby fostering scientific exchange and accelerating translational progress across the DZD network.
Each DZD Grant provides funding of up to EUR 60,000 per year for a duration of one or two years. Funds may be flexibly used to support personnel costs, consumables, and outsourcing services required for the successful implementation of the project.

A cost-neutral extension is generally not possible! – A maximum of 30% of the project budget of the first year can be shifted to the second year. After the second year, no further postponement is possible – the remaining budget will be returned to DZD.
